Pitillal Walking Map

New for 2014

A short bus ride from Vallarta's old town is another, even older town, Pitillal - a semi-independent municipality within greater Puerto Vallarta with some of the most picturesque urban scenery in the area. The square street grid is interrupted by arroyos (rushing rivers in high summer), verdant hills, pedestrian stairways, and whole tiny neighborhoods hidden away in the hill folds.

Like all of my maps, the Pitillal Walking Map indicates the rise and fall of the streets using an oblique side angle, facing eastward, toward the mountains where the Rio Pitillal originates in tropical obscurity.

Copies will be available at certain farmers' markets through Sandra Cesca in the 2015 season:
Individual copies may be ordered for delivery in the US and Canada via Mapa Jeff's online gallery.

Riviera Nayarit Roadmap, Part II

NEW FOR 2014

Riviera Nayarit Norte highlights the spectacular north beaches up to San Blas, while revealing a bird's-eye perspective deep into the interior of Nayarit. Byways through major crossroads such as Tepic (the state capital) and Compostela are shown in thumbnail fashion, while numerous destinations on the way to Guadalajara are also visible in the distance.

Also shown are paved and unpaved roads, the new toll road from Playa Los Cocos to Tepic, mountain peaks, beaches, tourist attractions, and much more, all in Mapa Jeff's signature style and precision artistry.

The Riviera Nayarit Sur map is also complete, stretching from Platanitos all the way to Puerto Vallarta.

Riviera Nayarit Roadmap

NEW FOR 2014

Riviera Nayarit Sur includes the Jala to Puerto Vallarta autopista, which is under construction and promises to cut travel times to the interior in half; the boundaries of a proposed Natural Protection Area covering the mountainous areas that ring the Bay of Banderas; paved and unpaved roads, mountain villages, beaches, peaks, and distant Guadalajara on the horizon.

Special thanks to Crescencio Becerra of Turismo Alternative Bahia de Banderas for providing intel on the sites of local petroglyphs and the Natural Protection Area boundaries.

This is the complement to the Cabo Corrientes Roadmap, which documents the unknown byways on the other side of Banderas Bay. The northern piece of Riviera Nayarit, extending to San Blas, is also complete.

Order prints here.

State of the Mapa, 2013-2014

While I will be down Mexside updating my maps this season, I will not be personally offering them at the Old Town Farmer's Market due to my sudden lack of an address in PV as of the early summer's 5th housing disaster in three years...

The technology-intensive nature of my work, the difficulty of maintaining computer systems in a tropical climate, and tightening work-visa requirements and enforcement, were among the reasons I relocated the map factory, and my personal life, Stateside this summer.

The maps are all available by mail order in the US and Canada via my online gallery with PayPal, and in Puerto Vallarta my old friend Amaranta at El Sofa Cafe keeps some on hand and I hear has all of Vallarta framed as a set.

Anyone who is already in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle's Sunday market (they are taking nobody new this year due to overflowing interest): Talk to me. Someone could do very well being the one who had good Sayulita, La Cruz, Bucerias and Nuevo map prints to sell.

Conchas Chinas Map for Drivers

ZONA ROMANTICA TO CONCHAS CHINAS
This map has been quite popular this season so I ordered a print run on the same durable, water-resistant paper as the Puerto Vallarta Walking Map.
Available at the Old Town Farmers' Market (Basilio Badillo, a block up from Olas Altas, Saturday 9:30-2 pm.) and by mail order in the U.S. and Canada.
